#stylebykari #pinterest

I absolutely love my Style by Kari Pinterest board. It has become my mood board and sometimes my saving grace when I have no idea what to wear. I just enter what I want to wear in the search and tada! it tells me what outfit would look best. I recently bought faux leather leggings for a Christmas party and wanted to find ways to wear them in a more casual setting. So, I searched leather leggings and found some looks that I could even pull off at work. Easy peasy!

When I have a client who has an idea of how they want to dress, but they don't know what else will look good with a certain piece, I always tell them to check out Women's Fashion on Pinterest. It is full of ideas! Pencil skirts, trouser jeans, fall sweater dresses, anything you want! I would bet money that I could make each of my looks on my Style by Kari board work in some way. That's the beauty of having a closet full of clothes. It may be overwhelming some days, but when I use Pinterest it is my own personal 'Select an Outfit' app.

Merry Christmas to ME!

My husband knows that I'm super picky and he requires a Christmas list during the holiday season so that he gets something I'll actually like. Last year when I was pregnant and not feeling like a hip fashionable mama, he bought me a vintage chain purse from an antique store. He didn't get any help with that present and I think he did pretty good. So good, that he had me bawling and running out of the room. I was crying because I wanted to be back to my fashionable self again. Ahhh, pregnancy hormones. So glad that's over....for now.

So this year when I had a new bag on my Christmas list, he insisted I pick it out for myself. Last night after deliberating over a few, I finally settled on this Steve Madden tote with some suede detail on the front. I absolutely love it! It's big enough for all of my stuff and the boys' stuff and the best part is it was on sale! Win! Win!

Because one present is never good enough, I am now looking for new things to keep in it. I must get a new wallet that compliments it because my green Liz Claiborne one is just not doing it for me with this bag. Since it's so big with no separate compartments inside, I'm in search of a small pouch that I can keep miscellaneous items in.

I love this Stella & Dot heart pouch and I'm obsessed with the positive affirmation on the inside lining - Hey There Beautiful!

At the ballet.

Ever since I knew my Grandma was a dancer, ballet had always held a special place in my heart. While I was watching tonight's Nutcracker performance, I saw my Grandma in each twirl and smiled.
The hubs didn't enjoy it as much as I did.
I snatched up this sequin skirt at Clothes Mentor in a quick shopping trip on Friday. I really love it. Too bad I can't wear sequins every day. I also got to wear my wedding shoes in December, thanks to the no snow!

All I want for Christmas is...

1. Black Leather Gloves - Target. Ever since I lost one of my favorite gloves in the garbage throwing out the trash, I've needed a new pair. 2. Black Belt - Not the karate kind. The Limited has the best choice for a classic look. 3. Gold Boyfriend Watch - Forever 21. Love this oversized look. 4. Black Heeled Boots - DSW. I seem to wear shoes out by wearing them so often, I need to learn to get them re-done instead of buying new ones all the time. 5. Large Tote - Michael Kors. I have several bags, but there is always room for another one that is versatile enough to carry with any outfit. 6. Bra - Victoria's Secret. Because they are meant for more than milk. 7. Diamond Bands - Zales. We all know that Pinterest is the devil and can make you think you are crafty/stylish/festive, even if you aren't. I saw this image of promise ring bands for your children worn with your wedding band. So cute! Gotta have it! 8. Elizabeth and James Black Perfume - Sephora. The Mary Kate and Ashley duo make 2 fragrances, this is the more musky scent and the White has more floral notes.

You're making me blush!

It's 4:30 AM and I have to wake up for work. As I slowly climb out of bed, I think how nice it would be to have some sort of fake illness so I don't have to get ready. The baby was up twice in the middle of the night which made for only a couple hours of really good sleep. Good thing he's cute!

I decide that today is a great day for a high bun and a gray/white sweater from Forever 21 with jeans and flats. I'm still wanting to crawl back into bed until I start to put my face on. The concealer conceals, the mascara masks and the pink rose blush wakes me up. Every time I put the blush on, I feel brighter and more awake. I've been buying this blush (and the bronze color) for years. I bet I'm keeping CoverGirl in business. For that price, how can you go wrong?

Running Away.

No matter how cute my almost 9 month old is, sometimes I still need a break. So, I text my friend Eliza and asked if she wanted to meet for a bit. Our usual hangout? Of course! Within minutes we were talking and cruising through the polyester sold in Forever 21. It never fails when I get the shopping itch that I head to Forever 21. It's almost like the Target curse, go in for a small necklace and leave with 15 other pieces.

Of course I couldn't turn down 4 new tops. Here's the one I decided to wear today. I just got these black jeans too at H&M online, since our fabulous (read: not very fashion forward) town doesn't currently have one. I should've guess that $10 jeans won't be the best quality. My zipper kept falling down all day. I might have to take them to my trusty alterations place to get a new zipper. Well, minus the flaws it's a cute outfit. Doesn't having flaws make it better?

Hello again!

Ok, so I've been a little busy. Giving birth and trying to maintain my sanity. Luckily, my fashion is always there. I'm trying to be better about posting for my New Year's Resolution, but who needs to wait till New Year's?! Why put off till tomorrow, what your can do today? Right?!

I've been on a huge shopping binge lately. Which means 2 things: 1. I need more hangers. And 2. Getting dressed in the morning is starting to take longer.  Today I decided to go for comfort. When living in North Dakota, heels when there is freezing rain just isn't smart. I'm no blonde.

I love this new gray sweater from Old Navy, but really I can't wait to take it off. It's quite itchy, not my best purchase, but it's cute. My new jeans from Gap at Clothes Mentor are heaven! Fit like a dream!

Must resist the urge to go shopping tonight....
